17TH-18TH CENTURY
The brush pot, of squat, cylindrical shape, is well carved in relief through the outer skin with a scene of a bearded scholar seated beside a stack of books beneath one of two bare-branched trees that separate him from a rocky mountainside beside a plunging waterfall.
