A GILT BRONZE STANDING FIGURE OF BUDDHA
18TH CENTURY
The figure is modelled standing in samapada on a lotus base, with his hands in abhaya and varada mudra, wearing an elaborate sanghati, the hemlines delicately incised with foliate borders, with a swastika symbol on his chest. His face is in a serene expression with arched brows, flanked by pendulous earlobes and his hair is styled in tight curls, surmounted by a high domed ushnisha.
