MAYAN STONE HACHA

Mayan stone hacha of thin section carved on both sides with an aged dignitary, his face deeply furrowed, sunken eyes adorned with a headdress composed of the curling body of a ferocious iguana; in gray green stone with remains of red pigments.

Lot Essay

Hacha en pierre grise patinée avec traces de pigments rouges, de forme carrée au sein de laquelle est visible un double profil d’homme au visage ridé d’un dignitaire avec des yeux enfoncés et surmonté d’une coiffure en forme d’iguane en position arrondie, avec une encoche de fixation à l’angle inférieur droit.
