VICKERS VIRGINIA CRASH AT EASTCHURCH. APRIL 1927 -- "This crash was a horrid affair ... Four were burnt to death ... All we could do at the time was play water on the bodies and wait until 2,000 gallons of petrol had burnt itself out." AIRMAN'S DEATH DIVE -- "Sergeant F. Giddy - One of the best trained with me at Digby in 1925" MARRISTON AERODROME CRASH DEC 14TH 1927, 5,000 FT DEATH DIVE: PUPIL ESCAPES -- "knew Baker at Eastchurch in 1927. Nice chap!" MAY 24 1932 -- And of Mr E.W. Bonnar who rescued a pilot from a burning machine "Bonnar one of the three B's of my old Squadron 25 F.T.S, well deserves the cake, didn't think he had it in him." NARROW ESCAPE -- On an article of a glider caught in a tree Bicknell wryly remarks "Other people seem to be able to do the same as I. Not bad. 30/4/32" and further down the page GLIDER CRASH VICTIM DIES -- "Others do worse? 7/5/32". Also included in the album are photographs of Jim Mollison's Puss Moth at Thanet Aerodrome where Bicknell was an instructor next to which is a copy of the engagement announcement of Mollison and Amy Johnson which is autographed by Mollison in pencil
