A rare English painted topographical fan
with an early 17th century manor house within the bend of a river, with bridge leading to fortified gatehouse, a lady and gentleman stroll in the park whilst their four children play with a dog and a hoop, with sheep beyond and a man with a gun, two figures on the bridge, one on horseback, and two figures in the foreground building a wall, there is a windmill on the hill beyond, the ivory sticks carved and pierced with figures - 11in. (27cm.), English, circa 1770, in contemporary fan case (lacks lid),(several sticks repaired and leaf worn)
