Aged in cask for 155 years. Bottled from large old casks in 2019. New wax capsules with orginal family GD seal. New stencilled bottles

Bottled directly from cask in 2019. 148 years in cask, unfiltered.
Very ethereal nose, iodine, intense, sweet, with air opening up more diversity in aromas. Complex with a touch of salt, from the oceanside ripening. Full extract rich taste, very concentrated though at same time showing sweet berry fruit followed by some varnish. On the finish, a fine lingering fruit acidity that balances out the fine fruits. Impressive wine that will get better with air and bottle age. Lots going on here. Impressive to have such a drinkability after all these years. A wine to keep in glass longer and open early on to let it breathe. A massive wine with great balance. Must have been serious from the start to have aged so well for almost one and half century. Indestructible Madeira.
