Rebottled in 2016. New wax capsules with A Madeira seal. Bin soiled labels
Levels into neck
Intense, high-toned nose with crème brûlée and floral aromas. Nicely opening up after some time in the glass. Straw. At first nose, the wine appeared a bit tired, but then, ethereal. Focused start of taste, fine, butterscotch but dry aromas in the mouth. Nice Canteiro aged acidity on the finish. A very nice Sercial. Classic, a bit rough, with a long lingering taste. Strikingly butterscotch on the flavour. After half an hour, it became more inviting, with a nose of firestone, salty even, high-toned still. Smoky tones. Fresh acidity. Getter better with time in the glass.
