A PAIR OF JAPANESE BRONZE VASES AND TWO FURTHER BRONZE VASES
MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY)
The pair each with a flared foliate neck pierced with manji to the applied section under the rim, cast in low and high relief with pairs of carp; together with a vase with tall tapering body, carved and inlaid in silver and copper with a long-tailed cockerel standing on a cherry branch; and a further vase of ovoid form with a short neck, cast in low and high relief with an overhanging budding branch and trailing vines
The pair: 14 7/8 in. (38.7 cm.) high
The two further vases 12 1/8 in. (30.6 cm.) high and 11 1/8 in. (28.1 cm.) high
