A George III ebonised striking bracket cclock
the case with brass handle to bell top, quarter frets above the arched door with moulded chamfered sides, on moulded base with block feet, the brass dial with silvered chapter ring, matted centre with mock pendulum and date apertures, gilt-metal foliate spandrels, with subsidiary strike/silent and regulation rings in the foliate engraved arch, flanking a silvered plaque signed Sam. Goujon LONDON, the twin train wire fusee movement now with anchor escapement, the backplate elaborately engraved with foliate scrolls and hatchwork, some losses to veneer and moulding to top of case -- 17¾in. (45.5cm.) high
