Lot Essay

Rare original ticket stub issued for the game played at Redland Field which was won by Chicago. The White Sox won 5-4 when Chic Gandil drove in co-conspirator Buck Weaver to score in the top of the 10th inning. The players who were in on "the fix" had grown uneasy about non-payment of promised monies and exacted their revenge with the unexpected victory. Desirable stub can be suitably positioned for display however the right side (typically referred to as the rain check portion) has separated from the left. Wear throughout includes wrinkles/creases and a few small tears/chips to the left hand side. There is a small puncture to the rain check portion. Mounting residue/damage on back: see description
