Lot Essay

"The only real game in the world, I think, is Baseball." Words uttered by a frail and cancer stricken Babe Ruth at ceremonies held at Yankee Stadium to honor his legendary career in the "house" that he built. A packed house rained down thunderous cheers while Ruth struggled to give a short speech in the midst of notable pain from his throat cancer treatments. Original ticket stub from that hallowed date with interesting period tyepwritten notations, "MacPhail has box 6 32 A&B All" and small ink notation of "Washington" denoting opponent. General condition is very fine with rough cut at bottom edge and some apparent minor adhesive residue on the verso: PSA (Authentic)
