EDMUND BLUNDEN (1896-1974)
A manuscript poem of 6 stanza's entitled: "The Prologue," signed by Bluden and printed version of the poem annotated and corrected in Blunden's hand. With an accompanying 2-page autograph letter, signed, from 19 Woodstock Close, 20th February 1934, to Mr. Thornhill, stating: "What a delightful plan and promise! ... the county round C.H. was preserving its spirit and detail in a wonderful way considering the operations of modern life ... A handbook will be a capital tribute to that permanence. If you will give me a little time, I will put down in verse some reminiscences ... which would only make an informal Foreward ... In such company my verses will appear very amateur." Together with 2 other autograph letters on the same theme, altogether two pages, signed by Blunden. (5)
