A 3-page document, signed: "Nelson & Bronte," to Captain Thomas, from: "Victory at Sea," 5 September 1804, folio, ordering him to proceed to Porto Conte with the Chatham and to fill a water cask on shore where: "the greatest care is to be taken in rolling the cask to and from the boats that no injury may be done to them," also to purchase live bullocks and to continue to: "Rendez-vous Number 97 under Cape St. Sebastian" (traces of guard).
