This important and stunningly attractive diamond encrusted white gold chronograph was available only by invitation or special request to Patek Philippe’s top clients. As the diamond-set version of the famous reference 5070, the model was given its own individual reference number 5071G. Combining the finest grade diamonds with the finest watchmaking, this highly impressive chronograph is in excellent condition and offered with the full set of accessories.
Undoubtedly one of the most elegant of Patek Philippe’s modern-era chronographs, it is set with 125 baguette-cut diamonds, weighing approximately 9.26 carats. The case has a large diameter of 42 mm, making it the second largest wristwatch produced by Patek Philippe after the ultra-complicated Sky Moon Tourbillon (42.8 mm.). The black dial is the perfect background for the diamond-set numerals and wonderfully enhances the cool aesthetic of the white gold and diamonds of the case.
The sister reference 5070 was launched in 1998 and was the first Patek Philippe chronograph-only watch to be produced for many decades. The movement is the calibre CH 27-70 with Nouvelle Lemania ebauche which was only used in the references 5070 and 5071.
