Broadside playbill for an early musical adaptation of Frankenstein, performed just ten years after the first publication of the book. Thomas P. Cooke (1786-1864) starred as the monster. He was known for his acrobatic prowess and was one of the most popular thespians of the day. An interesting survival.

Broadside (278 x 224mm). Single-column. (Two tiny wormholes near center, some pale offsetting.) Provenance: PBA Galleries, 9 February 2006, lot 362.
