On the gradual acceptance of the impossible.
'In der ersten, wahrscheinlich größeren Hälfte meines Lebens sagte ich :
„das gibt’s nicht? – : das gibt’s nicht !“
Als ich jedoch ålter wurde :
„das gibt’s leider nicht.“
Aber ich fühle, ich werde bald sagen :
„das gibt’s Gottseidank nicht !“'
('In the first, probably longer, half of my life I used to say: "So that's impossible? – That's impossible!“ / As I grew older, I would say: "Unfortunately that's impossible." / But I feel that soon I will say: "Thank God that's impossible!"')
