Lot Essay

Born in San Francisco, painter and illustrator Edward Cucuel worked in Switzerland. He exhibited in Paris at the Salon d'Automne. Cucuel became an associate member of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1913. His repertoire included portraits, war scenes, nudes, genre scenes, landscapes, and flowers.
