The handling of this drawing can be compared to The Adoration of the Magi formerly in the collection of the Dukes of Devonshire, Chatsworth, attributed to Pupini by A.E. Popham (sold Christie’s, 3 July 1984, lot 38; see M. Jaffé, The Devonshire Collection of Italian Drawings. Bolognese and Emilian Schools, London, 1994, no. 614, ill.).
