An Attic black-figure pottery lekythos
the central frieze showing the standing figure of Athena, beneath her are the struggling figures of Herakles and the Nemean lion, dotted tendrils in the field, rays around the shoulder, black glazed lower body and rim, restored handle; and another similar, showing a bearded male figure leading a crouched figure on a horse, another horse and rider facing him, restored neck and repaired foot and handle -- 8½in. (21.6cm.) high av., both 5th Century B.C.
