拍品專文

A large part of Lingelbach’s drawn œuvre consists of imaginary harbour views, executed in brush and grey ink, depicting resting workers and turbaned men, of which the present sheet is a characteristic example (compare P. Schatborn, with J. Verberne, Drawn to Warmth. 17th-Century Dutch Artists in Italy, exhib. cat., Amsterdam, Rijksmuseum, 2001, pp. 124-127). Variations on the same theme are the subject of a series of etchings by Johannes Gronsveld after Lingelbach’s design.
