Further details
This collection formerly belonged to Mr. Zhao Jingwu of Hong Kong, who, according to archival references in local newspapers, once served as the principal of the Oriental Middle School. In addition to the two calligraphic works presented here, his collection includes pieces dedicated to him by renowned artists such as Zhao Shao’ang (Lot 133), Gao Jianfu, Li Yanshan, and Feng Kanghou—indicating his close connections with leading figures of the modern Lingnan school of painting and calligraphy. The present collection was acquired directly from Mr. Zhao’s descendants by the current owner, and selected works will also be featured in Christie’s online auctions.
