Alors que les carrossiers étaient en déclin sur la majeure partie de la planète au début des années 1950, l’Italie restait une terre fertile pour la créativité et l’artisanat. Lorsque Fiat a présenté sa nouvelle 1100⁄103 au Salon de l’Automobile de Genève, en 1953, les carrozzeri italiens ont profité de cette occasion pour réinterpréter la berline familiale moderne en lui appliquant leurs propres inspirations. Parmi les créations plus frappantes figuraient un cabriolet et un coupé créés par Giovanni Michelotti pour Carrozzeria Allemano. Les deux modèles ont été présentés pour la première fois au salon de l’automobile de Turin au cours du mois d’avril de cette même année.
Ils ont été salués par les commentateurs de l’époque pour leur originalité et leur raffinement. Auto Italiana les a ainsi décrits comme « deux magnifiques versions d’une belle et originale biplace construite sur la base de la Nuova 1100 de Fiat, avec une face avant très personnalisée et des lignes dessinées par Michelotti ». Une production en série de courte durée a suivi, avant qu’un design révisé de Michelotti lui succède en 1954. D’après les recherches, seuls deux coupés et quatre cabriolets ont été construits, et aujourd’hui, on ne compterait plus que deux cabriolets et ce coupé.
Magnifiquement restaurée dans sa teinte d’époque Amaranto, associée à une sellerie beige, cette rare Fiat à carrosserie Allemano est proposée avec son passeport FIVA et son Certificato di Identità ASI (classification A3, 2021). Admise au Registro 1000 Miglia, elle peut également participer à ce célèbre événement italien. Élégant, influent et extrêmement rare, ce coupé Allemano Millecento représente l’essence même du design et de l’ingéniosité italiens des années d’après-guerre.

While coachbuilding was in decline across much of the world in the early 1950s, Italy remained a fertile ground for creativity and craftsmanship. When Fiat introduced its new 1100⁄103 at the 1953 Geneva Motor Show, Italian carrozzerie seized upon the opportunity to reinterpret the modern family saloon with their own inspired designs. Among the most striking were a cabriolet and coupe created by Giovanni Michelotti for Carrozzeria Allemano, both debuting at the Torino Auto Show that April.
Praised in contemporary reports for their originality and refinement, Auto Italiana described them as “two magnificent versions of an original and beautiful two-seater based on Fiat’s Nuova 1100, with a very personalized front and lines styled by Michelotti.” A short production run followed before a revised Michelotti design succeeded it in 1954. Research indicates only two coupes and four cabriolets were built, with just two cabriolets and this coupe known to survive.
Beautifully restored in its period-correct Amaranto over beige upholstery, this rare Allemano-bodied Fiat is offered with FIVA Identity Card and ASI Certificato di Identità (A3 classification, 2021). Accepted by the 1000 Miglia Registro, it is also eligible for this celebrated Italian event. Elegant, influential, and exceedingly scarce, this Millecento Allemano Coupe represents the essence of postwar Italian design and ingenuity.
