Lot Essay

Jimmy Page visited Epsom College, Surrey, a private secondary school in his home town, to raise funds for Page's charity, Task Brazil. A handful of pupils had visited the charity in Rio to see the work of the charity firsthand and Page's visit to the school was intended to help the pupils raise further funds for a school for homeless children near Rio. Page apparently spent the afternoon in a guitar workshop with some of the pupils, later taking part in a Q&A session and then jamming with members of staff and pupils on stage. He performed four songs with various staff and pupils that night, including Bob Dylan's 'Subterranean Homesick Blues', 'The Grinder', and a reggae version of 'Wherever I Lay My Hat'. This guitar was auctioned as part of the fundraiser, the original vendor in 2017 was a parent at Epsom College and the winning bidder that night.
