Lot Essay

This guitar was stage-played by Nancy Wilson, guitarist/co-vocalist for the band Heart, during live onstage performances of the group's classic song "Barracuda." Wilson used this instrument heavily during her 2011 tour with Def Leppard, purportedly smashing the neck on stage. It has since been repaired. Wilson was featured on the cover of the October, 2011 issue of Vintage Guitar magazine holding this very guitar (a copy is included in the lot). The lower back of the instrument is covered by a U.S. Marine Corps. sticker as a tribute to Wilson's father's service in the military.
