signed, inscribed and dated 'Bell Horse Day in Lees./All the people of the village are out watching/the horses go by. They are all trimmed with/Flowers & Bells. Mother, Father, George & I (also/the dogs Gyp & Barney) Grandma and the Three/Aunts are waiting to see our horse 'Fanny'/In spite of her wearing her Best Hat. She is/behaving very badly, but Fanny is very/strong minded and always insists on walking/in front next to the Band. Father is going/to help Ted lead her forward. Mr Taylor,/The Bank Manager, goes to the aid of Miss/Carter (who wore Pink) as she is afraid of/Fanny, and the year was 1906 on a/lovely May morning .../Helen Layfield Bradley. 1967.'
