Lot Essay

Trilobe inspires us to look at the passage of time in a deconstructed way. Indicated in a three-dimensional way, and without hands, the present Trilobe Une Folle Soirée is conceptually radical as it utilises three titanium concentrical rotating discs 'floating' over the base plate visually freeing the mechanics underneath.

The present timepiece was unveiled as a collaboration with Grail Watch in a limited edition of 25 pieces. In early 2022, watch influencer Wei Koh unveiled his new project around watchmaking, Grail Watch, through which he partners with independent watch brands to offer exclusive limited edition pieces to his community. After working with Ressence and Franck Muller, the present timepiece was released in December 2022 as the third installment of the partnership.

Featuring the hours on the periphery, then the minutes and finally, in the centre, the seconds, the Trilobe uses a traditional 40.5 mm. diameter case, offered in grade 5 titanium. Its complex ring system was made possible by the collaboration with renowned La Chaux-de-Fonds-based watchmaker Le Cercle des Horlogers. The partnership led to the creation of the X-Centric caliber, offering 48 hours of power reserve. Visible thanks to the absence of a 'conventional' dial, the blue finish of the main-plate completes the modern look.
