Lot Essay

The present Tank Cintrée was commissioned as a special order through Cartier’s 'New Special Order' program, which allows clients to personalise elements such as materials and dial colours within carefully defined parameters. For this particular timepiece, the client selected a platinum case and buckle, paired with a striking salmon dial, whose Roman numerals are rendered in a complementary warm tone.

Special-order Cartier timepieces are so highly prized by their owners that they are rarely, if ever, seen at auction. This ravishing and likely unique example, distinguished by its refined aesthetic, presents collectors with a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptionally exclusive and individual interpretation of one of Cartier’s most celebrated wristwatch designs.

Tank Cintrée
Introduced in 1921, the Tank Cintrée represents one of Cartier’s most refined and enduring interpretations of the Tank design. Characterised by its elongated and gently curved case, conceived to follow the natural contour of the wrist, the model achieves a perfect balance between elegance and ergonomics. Produced only in limited quantities throughout its history, the Tank Cintrée has remained a discreet yet highly coveted choice among collectors, admired for its purity of line and timeless sophistication.
