Descriptif du lot

The side of the ink stone is inscribed with fangsong tiancheng fengzi yan (an archaistic Song-style ‘wind’-character ink stone). The base of the ink stone is inscribed with an imperial poem, followed by bide (comparing virtue to jade), langren (clear and lustrous).

For an almost identical example in the collection of Palace Museum, Beijing, see The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, The Four Treasures of the Study- Writing Paper and Inkstones, Hong Kong, 2005, p. 132, no. 89-1 (fig. 1).



Please note, these lots, contain a type of Dalbergia wood that is subject to CITES export/import restrictions. However, as each lot (or each individual item in the lot) the weight of this type of Dalbergia does not exceed 10 kg, starting from 1 May 2021, CITES license is no longer required for importing the lot (or the individual item in the lot) into Hong Kong.
