The Ruthenium Collection
Regarded as one of F.P. Journe's most legendary and visually compelling early series, the Ruthenium Collection comprises five different models, each produced in a limited edition of only 99 pieces during the final years of the manufacture's brass movement era. For the first time in F.P. Journe's production, both the dials and movements were coated with ruthenium, an unusual metal belonging to the platinum group and prized for its resistance to corrosion. Beyond its technical properties, ruthenium was chosen for its remarkable aesthetic qualities, displaying a subtle depth of colour and distinctive metallic sheen that appears to change in tone according to the intensity and angle of the light.
Each model was housed in a 40 mm. platinum case, making the Ruthenium Collection particularly significant within early F.P. Journe production. Indeed, these watches are the only brass-movement F.P. Journe timepieces to have been produced in 40 mm. cases, rather than the 38 mm. format characteristic of the manufacture's other brass-movement watches of the period. Combining the coveted early brass movements with a distinctive monochromatic aesthetic and extremely limited production, the Ruthenium watches have become some of the most sought-after creations from F.P. Journe's formative years.
François-Paul Journe's Ruthenium Collection comprises five models:
- Chronomètre à Résonance
- Tourbillon Souverain
- Octa Calendrier
- Octa Chronographe
- Octa Jour/Nuit, a model produced exclusively as part of the Ruthenium Collection
Michael Schumacher
Few names transcend Formula One quite like Michael Schumacher. Following a remarkable career in karting and junior motorsport, Schumacher made his Formula One debut in 1991 before winning consecutive World Drivers' Championships with Benetton in 1994 and 1995. His subsequent move to Ferrari marked the beginning of one of the most dominant and celebrated periods in the history of motor racing.
Between 2000 and 2004, Schumacher secured an unprecedented five consecutive World Drivers' Championships with Ferrari, bringing his career total to seven. His extraordinary combination of speed, technical understanding, consistency, and determination transformed Ferrari into the dominant force of the era and established numerous records that would stand for years. With seven World Championships and 91 Grand Prix victories over the course of his career, Schumacher remains one of the most successful and influential drivers in the history of Formula One.
