A set of eight shaped dishes, five depicting various festivals including Tango no Sekku and Bon Ohori with revellers in meandering processions including shishimai dancers, musicians, lantern bearers, figures on wagons modelled as boats and shrines, children carrying flags and banners, girls with hobby-horses, prunus branches and kites, the remaining three with processions of officials on horseback and ladies in palanquins and carriages flanked by attendants and warriors carrying food and clothes boxes and bearing banners and flags, all on gold sprinkled grounds and within geometric pattern borders -- 8¼in.
