the hood with pagoda top with brass eagle and orb finials, outset stop-fluted columns to the front, sound frets to the sides, the arched trunk door flanked by stop-fluted three-quarter pilasters, the block plinth with later quatrefoil panel, the brass dial with silvered strike/silent ring in the arch (lacks hand) and dolphin spandrels, signed on the chapter ring William Rand LONDON, the matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring and calendar aperture, the five pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, quarter striking on eight bells with hour strike on further bell (lacking), seatboard replaced; adapted -- 91in. (231cm.) high
