the breakarch case with fluted pagoda top with fret-carved panel below, brass urn finials to the angles, fishscale sound frets to the sides, brass stop-fluted Corinthian columns to the front, on rectangular base with foliate cast scroll feet, the silvered and engraved dial with rings for chime/silent, regulation, chimes on four gongs/eight gongs, the three chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, chimes on eight gongs with hour strike on further gong, pendulum holdfast to the backplate -- 29½in. (75cm.) high
