A lacquered-brass Martin-pattern planetarium, signed on the plate, 8¾-inches (22.2cm.) diameter winding handle, the upper plate with rack gear and engraved with a calendar scale, the seven planetary arms with ivory planets and moons, the axis with 2-inch (5.1cm.) diameter sun ball, the tellurium with 3-inch diameter globe with label inscribed CARY's Pocket GLOBE agreeable to the latest DISCOVERIES PUB'd by J & W Cary, Strand, London, Apr. 1. 1794, the twelve hand-coloured printed paper gores showing the tracks of Capt. Cook and other navigators, the polar circles coloured green, with silvered equatorial ring divided in four quadrants and meridian half-circle, with quadrant scale to each side, with geared mechanism, the lunarium similarly constructed and with well-engraved silvered scales, and the associated wick illuminating lamp, the planetarium mounted on a tapering pillar support and folding tripod stand, the cabriole legs terminating in pad feet
