the tapering case with fluted pediment surmounted by a carved pineapple finial, with ripple moulding to the front angles outside a moulded border with ebony line inlay, arched tracery sound frets to the sides, on fluted feet, the silvered dial within a brass engine-turned bezel signed Murray & Strachan Cornhill London, the twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, pull trip repeat, the backplate with engraved border and repeat signature, with pendulum holdfast -- 16¾in. (42.5cm.) high
