the case with brass handle to the bell top and ball finials to the corners, arched foliate pierced and incised sound frets to the sides, with chamfered and brass stop-fluted angles, on bracket feet, the dial with foliate spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, matted centre with plaque signed SMITH & SONS ST JOHN'S SQUARE LONDON, subsidiary rings in the arch for chime/silent and chime on eight bells Cambridge chimes, the triple fusee movement with anchor escapement, hour strike on gong and quarter chime on eight bells, pendulum holdfast to the backplate -- 15½in.
