An exhibition standard 1:48 scale planked and pinned model of a Wooden Brig of circa 1879
built by J. Brooks with masts, yards with foot ropes and chains, standing and running rigging with scale blocks, gilded female figurehead, anchors, catheads, capstan, belaying rails and pins, windlass, companionways, hatches, deck house with two clinker built ship's boats over with bottom boards and thwarts, bilge pumps, poop deck with deck house, wood capped rails, grating, deck light and helm and other details. The hull, unplanked below the waterline is fully pinned in contrasting woods with fully planked deck and is finished in white, black and matt varnish and mounted on two turned wood columns -- 30 x 44in. (76 x 111.7cm.). Wood framed perspex display case (one pane missing).
