with shepherd and shepherdess, the dolls with dipped wax heads, sleeping eyes, tightly curled blonde wigs, wood and composition shoulderplate, pelvis, arms and legs, the boy in original cream knee breeches and red jacket, the shepherdess in original pink and white striped frock with apron, shawl and basket, the composition sheep with wired legs, sheepskin coats, pink and blue ribbons attached with gold paper rosettes and stamped black letters; the black sheep covered in horse skin -- the sheep 3in. (8cm.) high, the dolls 9in. (23cm.) high, in original box base, German circa 1870
