A CORINTHIAN POTTERY SQUAT OINOCHOE WITH LID, with broad flat base and high arching strap handle, the short neck with trefoil mouth and fitted sunken lid with central knop, the encircling frieze around the body with lion, panthers, grazing goats and geese, background filled with dots and incised rosette motifs, vertical incised lines and rays around the shoulder, rays below central frieze, details incised and in added purple, worn and with two holes in body -- 7 5/8in. (19.3cm.) high, circa 625-600 B.C.
