A Romano-Egyptian mosaic glass inlay of a New Comedy maenad mask
Circa 1st Century B.C.
In two halves, with opaque white face and translucent blue eyes, brows, nose, chin and mouth with red lips, adorned with opaque red curls, fringe and corkscrew locks, wearing a fillet with opaque light and dark green ivy leaves, in a semi-translucent blue matrix
1½ x 1¼ in. (3.7 x 3.4 cm.)
