A square vase and flattened cover painted and gilt with panels of figures harvesting and working in paddy fields before scattered huts and boats in mountainous landscapes, children seated before a large screen and eating and drinking in the background and birds amongst blossoming branches, all on a dense ground of scrolling foliage, the shoulder and cover with a multitude of butterflies and kiku heads -- 4¾in. (12cm.) high, signed Yabu Meizan.
