Published in Punch, 22nd August 1896, this cartoon features a diminutive Mr. Punch as umpire, trying to restore the peace between W. G. Grace and the professionals Abel and Trott by offering them a loving cup. It appeared with the caption: "Mr. Punch, the Universal Umpire (addressing Dr. Grace and Messrs. Ab-l and Tr-tt) 'Now Gentlemen all, I'll give you a toast that every good cricketer may join in -- Fast Play, Fair Play and Friendliness!'"
