The scene in Brighter Cricket is Kensington Gardens where a nanny, bowling underarm to a small boy dressed in a sailor suit, uses the fencework that guards a young sapling as an enormously wide wicket -- the caption reads "In reply to those who advocate an increase in the wicket we should like to point out that there is nothing new in this idea." The subject of the second cartoon is a middle-aged spectator fully equipped with pipe, walking stick and cricket blazer, hurrying to take his seat under the eye of an attendant policeman. The caption reads: "Policeman (clearing the ground) to wonderfully attired spectator -- ''Urry up sir, the bell's gone and it's time you put your pads on!'"
