After Shen Quan (c.1682-1760)
a scroll in ink and colour on silk depicting a bird about to take flight, perched on a blossoming peony branch among bamboo issuing from rockwork over the sea, foaming waves lapping against rocks below -- 43½in. x 18 1/8in. (110.5cms x 46cms), signed Shen Quan of Wuxing, dated Qianlong genshen year (1740), one seal of the artist and two collectors' seals, (some creasing).
