The case with flat top hood with spiral pilasters, with marquetry inlay of birds amidst foliage to the trunk door with lenticle glass, floral marquetry to the plinth on bracket feet, the 10in. (25.5cm.) square brass dial with cherub mask and foliate spandrels to the chapter ring signed Robert Hodgkin LONDON, matted centre with engraving to date aperture, subsidiary seconds ring, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement; composite; dial circa 1700, case basically 18th century, movement 18th century -- 75¼in. (191cm.) high
