A Transitional style ormolu and bronze striking mantel clock, 19th century
The drum-shaped case with beaded border and mounted with a circlet of zodiacal symbols, supported on a spreading socle to a a circular platform with relief cast gallery modelled with amorini engaged in various activities, with lanceolate leaf cast cornice below, supported on six quiver columns to conforming base centred by a figure of Cupid seated on a pedestal, on claw feet, the white enamel Roman dial within a beaded and stiff leaf bezel, pierced gilt-metal hands, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on replaced bell -- 16¾in. (42.5cm.) high
