A Regency mahogany longcase clock, first quarter 19th century
The chequer-inlaid hood with carved flowerhead caps to the swan-neck pediment, with dentil cornice and outset reeded columns, arched tracery sound frets to the sides, with wavy arch trunk door flanked by reeded pilasters, the plinth with 3/4 chamfered sides and on bracket feet, the brass dial with silvered plaque in the arch signed Rob.t Smith IRVINE Ja.s Bryson, foliate and scroll spandrels, engraved centre and seconds ring with date aperture below, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement; hood and case associated -- 90in. (229cm.) high
