A George III oak longcase clock, late 18th/early 19th century
The hood with stepped top surmounted by a swan neck pediment, with wavy frame to the door and outset reeded columns, the crossbanded square top trunk door centred by an oval and flanked by reeded chamfered angles, the plain plinth on bracket feet, the white dial painted with scene of Britannia with trophies in the arch, with blue scroll spandrels to the Arabic chapter ring, subsidiary calendar aperture and seconds ring to the centre signed Shepherd & Potter WOTTON (retouched), with falseplate stamped WALKER & ...MORE to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, possibly associated -- 94in.
