First half of the 17th Century
With broad blade with a shallow central fuller on each face of the forte, iron hilt with guard of flat bars comprising downscrolled rear quillon, knuckle-guard, and double side-rings filled with pierced plates, the inner one with a thumb-ring, the outer one curved towards the hand and linked to the heart-shaped pommel by a side-bar, the outer side with punched decoration, the grip bound with wire (replaced, rust-pitted throughout)
