The rectangular hinged outer case chequer-banded overall, with a chessboard and cribbage boards to the outside and a backgammon-board to the interior, enclosing a hinged rectangular box with solitaire- board to the top and enclosing a red leather-lined interior with a red and white ivory chess set, two shakers, seventeen various die, twenty-nine counters and fifty-one various pegs, the silver hinges on the outer case with maker's mark of James Jackson, London, 1813/14, the case and inner case possibly associated
