1977 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK COUPE

Chassis No. 6F022 200439
Red with red leatherette interior.

Engine: 90/f V8 289ci (4728cc), single two-barrel carburettor, 203bhp at 4400rpm; Gearbox: automatice; Suspension: independent front by unequal length arms and vertical coil spring, semi-elliptic springs to rear live axle, telescopic dampers; Brakes: hydraulic drum all round. Left hand drive.

Within five months of its introduction in the Spring of 1964, the Ford Mustang was the third most popular make in the US and went on to sell more than 400,000 units in under a year. It was a brilliant vindication of the company's "personal car" concept. The "long hood, short deck" styling was overtly European Gran Turismo, but under the shapely shell was purest American Ford engineering. It was a well-judged package, with room for up to four occupants inside the two door cabin, where front bucket seats carried on the Mustang's sports car theme. The special market which these design features were intended to attract eventually passed with time and the later models gradually lost their appeal. This presentation of this particular Mustang is average, but it is said to be in good working order.

Please note that this is a 1976 car and not 1970 as catalogued. The
specification is incorrect; it is in fact a V6 model and has a manual gearbox.
